New Release: Sorting, Export Project List View & Task Due Notification
What’s usually not considered is the impact that some of the smaller but also significant features can have on the way we manage projects.
In today’s post, I’m going going to introduce our latest release and tell you why they are valuable to you and your team.
Meet:
- Project Sorting
- Export Projects List View to PDF & Excel
- Task Due Notification
Why it’s important to be able to sort your projects?
Like anything, it’s easy to find what you’re looking for when you’re managing just a handful of projects.
As you grow your business and add more to your account, it begins to get more difficult to find the right one that you are looking for.
So, when you’re looking through Project Central to see which projects are coming near to their End Date, you can quickly use our sort functionality.
End Date isn’t the only criteria you can use to sort your projects.
We’ve also added the option to sort all projects by:
- Date Created (Ascending & Descending)
- Last Updated (Ascending & Descending)
- Start Date (Ascending & Descending)
- End Date (Ascending & Descending)
- % Complete (Ascending & Descending)
- Name (Ascending & Descending)
Or, if you prefer, you can just click and drag your projects into any order you like.
You can sort projects on both Card View and on List View – so the same functionality in whichever format you’re most comfortable working in.
How to export a list of projects?
We’ve found that some users are more comfortable having a downloaded copy of their projects to hand.
Or that there are cases where upper management members might prefer a simple list of projects showing the high-level metrics, rather than having to logging into another tool once a month.
So, we’ve taken onboard their feedback and added an export feature to a projects list.
Now, it’s really easy to export your projects to Excel or PDF format.
How a Task Due notification means you’ll never drop the ball again?
When you’re involved in multiple projects, it’s easy for things to get a little crazy.
You’re fully aware that you have loads of tasks to complete, and that some are more important than others.
Since nobody ever intentionally lets a due date go by, it’s fair to say that this is an important decider in helping you prioritize tasks.
So when a task falls due, we’ll send you an email to give you a heads up and help to make sure that you never miss a date again.
What’s coming next?
We’re still focusing on improving the way you manage your projects, so the next release includes:
- Boards: Organize your work like sticky notes that you can move across columns with a clean, visual overview, with all the same power of a Task List View. Add items to your board, then drag and drop to track it through to completion.
As always, we look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on Project Central.
